Dialogue with Decision Makers

ISPOR Roundtables and Councils bring together key decision-making stakeholders from around the world to share innovative research methods and health policy developments. The objective of these initiatives is to provide an unbiased forum that convenes key thought leaders who can learn from each other to advance the science of health economics and outcomes research.

ISPOR Health Science Policy Council

The ISPOR Health Science Policy Council (HSPC) is an advisory body to the Society on key scientific research and policy issues in health economics and outcomes research (HEOR). It is composed of ISPOR Past-Presidents and other distinguished experts in HEOR.

ISPOR Health Technology Assessment Council

The ISPOR Health Technology Assessment (HTA) Council is a global body of healthcare decision makers who advises the Society toward the goal of bridging the gap between outcomes research and healthcare decision making.

ISPOR Health Technology Assessment Roundtables

ISPOR HTA Roundtables provide a platform for technology assessors, private and public payers, regulators, and patients to discuss, debate, and share issues relating to health technology assessment. ISPOR HTA Roundtables seek to help fulfill the Society’s HTA Council mission by facilitating information sharing about the current state of HTA, its development, and its role in optimizing healthcare decisions. Roundtable attendees include representatives from public HTA bodies, public and private payers, decision makers, and government-contracted academic centers (if no HTA body exists in the country).

ISPOR convenes the following HTA Roundtables annually:

  • HTA-P&T Roundtable—North America
  • HTA Roundtable—Asia Pacific
  • HTA Roundtable—Europe
  • HTA Roundtable—Latin America
  • HTA Roundtable—Middle East and Africa

Health Technology Assessment Council Working Groups

ISPOR HTA Council working groups develop guidance on good practices used to inform evidence-based, population-based (ie, payer) decision making for new interventions, with an emphasis on HTA approaches. See the working groups here.

Special Interest Group Reports

ISPOR Special Interest Groups develop valuable tools and reports for the global heath economic and outcomes research audience. Special Interest Groups cover a wide range of topics, such as oncology, medical devices and diagnostics, medication adherence, rare diseases, and HTA.

Local Policy
