January/February 2024

For many people, ringing in 2024 means resolutions to lose weight and be healthier. It’s a pattern that will be repeated as obesity and inactivity rates continue to rise. According to the World Health Organization, worldwide obesity has nearly tripled since 1975. In 2016, more than 1.9 billion adults 18 years and older were overweight, and of these, more than 650 million were obese. HEOR evidence can help pinpoint where policy and regulatory interventions can be most efficient and effective in addressing this particular public health pandemic.
