Value in Health Regional Issues: Reflections and Challenges After a Decade

Abstract

ISPOR’s journal, Value in Health Regional Issues (VIHRI), is celebrating 10 years since its first volume in 2012. The journal was primarily created to promote the development of health economics and outcomes research (HEOR) in regions where the discipline was evolving, also referred at that time as emerging regions. The first volume included 2 issues, 1 focused on the Asia-Pacific region and another focused on Latin America. In 2013, VIHRI added a third issue focused on the regions of Central and Eastern Europe, Western Asia, and all countries from Africa. This structure of 3 issues per year with a geographical distribution has prevailed until the present.
