ISPOR Press Pass Information

ISPOR—the professional society for health economics and outcomes research—invites credentialed journalists to cover its scientific conferences/summits. Journalists are required to complete an application form, and ISPOR will grant press passes based on a formal review and vetting of submitted materials.

Press passes are available for journalists and correspondents representing newspapers, news programs, industry newsletters, and business publications that operate within the scope of ISPOR's mission and objectives. Some examples include, but are not limited to:

ISPOR Press Passes are reserved for working media engaged in reporting and distributing information directly to the general public.

Representation from peer-reviewed scientific journals, other society publications, independent consulting firms, sales, advertising, public relations, marketing firms, or conference exhibitors are not eligible for Press Passes.


ISPOR Press Pass Benefits

An ISPOR Press Pass entitles the recipient to one complimentary registration to attend all open conference/summit sessions. ISPOR invitational meetings, such as board meetings, roundtables, etc, are not open to the media. Only 1 press pass per company/publication may be granted.

Members of the media are requested to send ISPOR examples of their coverage after the conference/summit. We ask that the event name and date be appropriately credited (eg, "from ISPOR Real-World Evidence Summit 2025: Through the Lens of Asia Pacific held 28-30 September 2025 in Tokyo, Japan") in all media coverage, including print news stories, e-newsletters, web postings, blogs, and/or video coverage. The first reference to ISPOR should be written as "ISPOR—The Professional Society for Health Economics and Outcomes Research," after which "ISPOR" can be used. All print, broadcast, and electronic media clips/write-ups, etc, should be sent to ISPOR Communications. ISPOR does not share, rent, or distribute media registration information.

ISPOR supports the promotion of research presented at its conferences/summits, while safeguarding sensitive information, data, and research findings that are not yet available to the public. Due to the sensitive and preliminary nature of data and unpublished research findings, all filming (photos + video) and recording of sessions and research posters is prohibited during the conference/summit. Conference/summit attendees and members of the press must gain approval from a speaker or poster presenter prior to quoting or publishing that individual's scientific results. Members of the press must identify themselves as such before questioning speakers and conference/summit attendees if using the information in a professional capacity.

ISPOR Embargo Policy

Contributed research presenters at ISPOR conferences who are issuing press releases relating to their contributed research presentation are required to abide by the following ISPOR Press Release Embargo Policy.

For Contributed Research Presentations at ISPOR Conferences:

Promotion of general topics, speakers, or presentation times is permitted and encouraged within the stated guidelines.

  • For press releases referring ONLY to information contained in the contributed research abstract, [ie, information limited to OBJECTIVES, METHODS, RESULTS, and CONCLUSIONS of the abstract], all information is embargoed until the abstract has been published to the ISPOR conference program at www.ispor.org or to the ISPOR Presentations Database.
  • For press releases referring to information which goes beyond that contained in the contributed research abstract [ie, OBJECTIVES, METHODS, RESULTS, and CONCLUSIONS of the abstract] such as additional analysis, commentary, or updated information from those individuals and companies involved in the study, the information is embargoed until it has been presented at the specific ISPOR conference to which it was submitted and accepted. Presented research abstracts will be published online in Value in Health or Value in Health Regional Issues after the conference.
