ISPOR is leading efforts in the area of RWE transparency in collaboration with ISPE, Duke Margolis and NPC. The recent publication in Value in Health lays out the recommendations for increasing transparency of RWE studies particularly those using secondary data sources and focused on comparative effectiveness or evaluating causal inferences. This session will provide updates from the initiative including progress on the study registration site and the special task force on RWE protocol templates.

Learning Objectives:

  • Attendees will learn what we mean by transparency and why transparency is important for RWE studies in secondary data use studies for hypothesis evaluation treatment effects;
  • Attendees will learn about efforts to create a study registration site based on recommendations from the transparency initiative including how this fits into broader efforts increase transparency in research outside of HEOR; and
  • Attendees will learn about the joint task force with ISPE regarding development of a protocol template for RWE hypothesis evaluating treatment effects studies.
