Apply a 6-step approach to build Excel-based budget impact models
This course is designed for professionals developing budget impact analyses for payers and decision makers. It combines foundational concepts with hands-on experience using Excel-based models.
Technical topics include:
Overview of budget impact analysis principles and interpretation of results.
Static vs. dynamic models and considerations for devices, diagnostics, copayments, and generics.
Balancing simplicity, accuracy, and face validity in model design.
This course includes tools and concepts that can be immediately applied, including:
Step-by-step walkthroughs of two Excel-based models (static and dynamic).
Interactive exercises to enhance and apply provided models.
Excel tips and best practices for model development.
Participants who wish to gain hands-on experience must have Microsoft Excel for Windows installed on their computers.
PREREQUISITE: Participation in the ISPOR short course, “Budget Impact Analysis I: A 6-Step Approach,” or equivalent knowledge, is recommended. Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel is required.
This short course is offered in-person at the ISPOR Europe 2024 conference.
