ISPOR ANNOUNCES PLENARY SESSIONS AND SPEAKERS FOR 19TH ANNUAL EUROPEAN CONGRESS

To Be Held 29 October–2 November 2016 in Vienna, Austria  Princeton, NJ—September 12, 2016—The International Society for Pharmacoeconomics and Outcomes Research (ISPOR) announced plenary sessions and speakers for its 19th Annual European Congress that will be held 29 October–2 November 2016 in Vienna, Austria. The congress will explore topics related to the conference theme—Managing Access to Medical Innovation: Strengthening the Methodology-Policy Nexus. The first plenary session, What Synergies Could Be Created Between Regulatory and Health Technology Assessments, is scheduled for Monday, 31 October 2016 and will explore potential synergies in the work and processes of regulators and health technology assessment (HTA) bodies that could be realized by addressing roadblocks in the European Union (EU) health sector ecosystem. Plenary speakers include:

The second plenary, Differential Pricing of Medicines in Europe: Implications for Access, Innovation, and Affordability, will be held Tuesday, 1 November 2016 and will consider options for a defined and systematic approach to promoting efficient differential pricing in Europe. The third and final plenary session, How to Control Costs and Improve Access to Medicines: Lessons From the InterQuality Project, will be held Wednesday, 2 November 2016 and will describe a number of important themes emerging from the International Research Project on Financing Quality in Healthcare—InterQuality.
