Advance Your Skills in Evaluating New Health Technologies Early in Development

Early health technology assessment (HTA) helps stakeholders anticipate the value, impact, and feasibility of innovations long before market entry. This intermediate-level course explores how early HTA methods can guide research and investment decisions when data are limited. Participants will learn how to collaborate with diverse stakeholders to evaluate potential clinical, economic, and implementation outcomes during the earliest phases of product development.

Technical Topics Include:
• Key principles and constraints of early HTA in the innovation lifecycle
• Frameworks for decision making across industry, regulatory, and payer perspectives
• Research methodologies for assessing products with limited clinical data
• Stakeholder engagement strategies for evidence generation and analysis framing
• Case studies illustrating early evaluation of medical technologies

This Course Includes Practical Tools and Concepts That Can Be Immediately Applied, Including:
• Exercises on framing product development decisions using early HTA principles
• Methods for selecting appropriate data collection and analysis strategies
• Real-world insights into the use of early HTA for guiding R&D investments and adoption planning

PREREQUISITE: Attendance at short courses "Introduction to Health Technology Analysis", "Cost-Effectiveness Analysis Alongside Clinical Trials” and/or equivalent concepts and methodologies is prerequisite to attending this course.
