VI ISPOR Colombia Congress,
ISPOR Colombia heldits IV Congress in virtual format, from September 21 to 24, 2020. This event brought together actors responsible for health system policies and representatives from all related sectors, to analyze the most recent changes in the Colombian health system and the role that pharmacoeconomics and results research play in this context. For this occasion, the thematic axes that were be addressed in this congressfocused on the regulatory context and financial sustainability, use of HEOR in making of real-world decisions and practical applications of information and communication technologies.

About COVID-19 in Colombia
The number of patients amounts to more than 1,700 cases of infected with COVID-19. The country has closed its borders, has placed in preventive isolation all travelers who enter the nation for a period of 14 days. On the weekend of March 20-24, the country found itself in a mock curfew. That is, in Bogotá and in other 4 departments of the country, citizens will not be able to leave their homes, unless it is to a health center or to buy food. The government has already allocated additional resources to the health system to strengthen it, the medical centers are already taking measures to receive in the best possible way the large influx of patients expected in the coming weeks.Additionally, the entire country has been ordered to work from their homes whenever possible and only leave if strictly necessary. Additional, Lately, the Colombian government decided to carry out more than 17 thousand daily Coronavirus tests, using 60 different laboratories that will be working at maximum capacity, this in preparation for the virus mitigation stage in which the country is currently. Colombia Chapter Recognized with the 2019 Outstanding Regional Chapter Award - Congratulations!
ISPOR Colombia Chapter has been recognized with the award the second time, once again delivering outstanding contribution and leadership in advancing ISPOR's mission in the region. The ISPOR Outstanding Regional Chapter Award Program was introduced in 2017 to recognize outstanding contribution and leadership of ISPOR regional chapters in advancing the Society's mission in its global regions - Asia Pacific; Latin America; and Europe, Middle East, and Africa. ISPOR also congratulates the Russia St Petersburg and ISPOR West China Regional chapters for being recognized with the award. Additional information about the award can be found here
The chapter president Dr Camilo Ernesto Castañeda Cardona will be accepting the award during the second plenary session at ISPOR Europe 2019 in Copenhagen, Denmark. An interview with him and other awarded chapter presidents will be featured in the November/December 2019 issue of Value & Outcomes Spotlight.

Colombia Chapter Recognized with Outstanding Regional Chapter Award
Congratulations to the Colombia Chapter! The new ISPOR Outstanding Regional Chapter Award program recognizes exceptional contribution and leadership of regional chapters in advancing the Society's mission in its global regions. The award is offered in 3 categories based on chapter membership size: small, medium, large. ISPOR staff assess chapter contributions by applying eligibility and selection criteria based on a review of information available from chapter annual reports, chapter contributions to the Society's publications, and participation in the Society's activities throughout the year.
The 2018 ISPOR Outstanding Regional Chapter Award was presented to the Colombia Chapter, Mexico Chapter, and Russia St Petersburg Chapter. Congratulations is due to this year's recipients for their exceptional contribution and leadership in advancing the Society's mission in its global regions. The interview with the chapter awardees can be found in the December issue of Value & Outcomes Spotlight in the section " ISPOR Central — ISPOR Speaks."

About the Award
Chapter contributions were assessed by applying eligibility and selection criteria based on information gathered from submitted Chapter Annual Reports and chapter input to ISPOR publications and activities throughout the year. The award consists of a trophy, USD $ 1000 per winning chapter (available as a credit against the winning chapter's future educational events), an interview in Value & Outcomes Spotlight, and a complimentary ISPOR Europe conference registration for the chapter delegate who accepts the award on behalf of the chapter. Los modelos constituyen la mejor manera posible de acercarse a describir matemáticamente una realidad. En el marco de la evaluación de tecnologías en salud, las evaluaciones económicas requieren recrear, mediante modelos matemáticos, el curso natural de la enfermedad y las intervenciones mediante tecnologías en salud. Durante el curso presentaron los modelos de evaluación económicas en salud utilizados con más frecuencia, con un enfoque pragmático, esto es, acercándose al hacer más que a la teoría, en diferentes niveles de complejidad (trabajo en grupos paralelos según el nivel de conocimiento de cada asistente).
