International Webinar: “Real World Evidence and its Utility”, 23rd January 2021

An international webinar on “Real World Evidence (RWE) and its utility” was organized by ISPOR India West Bengal Chapter on 23rd January 2021 jointly with IPA-RAD. The programme was initiated by Dr. Subhash C. Mandal, President, ISPOR India West Bengal Chapter. He explained the objectives, structure and activities of ISPOR. Then he introduced the speaker Prof. Sanjoy Roy, Senior Director of Global Health Economics and Market Access at Johnson and Johnson Medical Devices, New Jersey, USA. Prof. Roy is an adjunct faculty in Fairleigh Dickinson University, USA. Prof. Roy explained the concept of RWE, methodology of data collection and its utilization in Health care Industry including health Policy making, Regulatory approvals, Medical devices industry, improving therapeutic outcome.

He explained the utility of RWE data with some examples. At the end of presentation there was an interactive session in which exchange of views where made with participants from Executives of Pharmaceutical Industry, Clinical researchers, academicians, Regulatory professionals and students. Participants expressed satisfaction and requested to organize such programme in future.

Bringing PEOR to Healthcare Education in India

Dr. Subhash C. Mandal, President of ISPOR India West Bengal Chapter recently advocated to include Pharmacoeconomics and Outcomes research as one of the subjects in the course curriculum of all health care providers such as Doctors, Pharmacists & Nurses in an International Seminar on "Renovation of Pharmaceutical Education towards the need of the health care system" held on 27th January, 2019 at Jakir Hossain Institute of Pharmacy, Murshidabad, West Bengal. He also explained the need of training on Pharmacoeconomics and Outcome research for all healthcare providers, Policy makers and regulators.

Dr. Mandal made a presentation entitled "Pharmaco Economics in Health Care". The seminar was attended by Pharmacists, doctors, policy makers, regulators, reporters and students.



Dr. Subhash Mandal delivered a lecture on "Regulatory approval and Implication of Pharmacoeconomics" at GCTS.

 

 The President of ISPOR India-West Bengal Chapter, Dr. Subhash Mandal, has delivered a lecture on "Regulatory approval and Implication of Pharmacoeconomics" in a National Conference held on 21 May 2017 at GCTS, Assansol, India.



Dr. Subhash C. Mandal was invited to speak at National Institute of Pharmaceutical Education and Research (NIPER)

Dr. Subhash C. Mandal, India-West Bengal Chapter president, has been invited by National Institute of Pharmaceutical Education and Research (NIPER), Kolkata in a " Rare Disease Round Table Conference" held on 22 April 2017 and made a presentation on "Rare Diseases and Orphan Disease Act". After the whole day deliberation a committee has been formed including Dr. Mandal for drafting a suitable Orphan Disease Act for India.

Dr. Subhash C. Mandal, President, ISPOR India-West Bengal Chapter, delivered a lecture titled "Impact of Pharmacoeconomics in Health Care Sector: Regulatory Perspective" during the “International Conference on Frontiers in Pharmaceutical Science & Research” at Raipur, Chhattishgarh, India on October 11-12, 2014.
