The ISPOR Europe, Middle East, and Africa (EMEA) Global Networks had presence at the ISPOR 22nd Annual International Meeting through invitational meetings for Central & Eastern Europe, Arabic and Africa Networks Members and group presentations. Registrants from the EMEA had a unique opportunity to network with other ISPOR global groups at the ISPOR Global Networks Reception.

ISPOR Vienna was a "must-attend" event for anyone who wanted to stay current on emerging trends in HEOR in Europe and globally. This year's Congress featured 2500 presentations and was attended by 4,700 participants from 89 countries.
The ISPOR CEE Network had an active presence at the Congress through program contribution with four forum presentations, a CEE-focused short course, several regional chapter meetings, the CEE Network Executive Committee, and a Working Committees meetings.
A CEE Network Welcome Reception was held on 31 October and provided attendees with an opportunity to interact, share ideas, and network.

This meeting was attended by the CEE Network Executive Committee and Chapters members participating in ISPOR DC and focused on discussing the ongoing projects developed by the working committees, members engagement, Network contribution during the upcoming ISPOR meetings, as well as updates in the Network.
Tuesday, May 24
This Forum discussed the do’s and don’ts when designing, conducting and implementing MCDA in the context of HTA. Speakers explained how to select the criteria and design model that is best catered to the needs of the CEE countries. The methodological framework and practice of MCDA in Western countries have a perspective for transferability to the Central and Eastern European (CEE) region.

The aim of this meeting is to compare the legislative requirements for the reimbursement applications for drugs or medical devices reflecting ISPOR guidelines in Hungary and Slovakia.
The meeting will discuss: HTA systems and education in CEE, legislative and administrative framework, the quality of the outputs and filling the gaps in HTA systems - ISPOR views, specifics on HTA systems in Hungary and Slovakia.
Many CEE Network leaders and experts will take part in the meeting as speakers, among them: Prof. Zoltan Kalo, Vlad Zah, Prof. Dominik Tomek, Dr. Csaba Dózsa, Prof. Martin Višňanský and many more.

Value in Health Regional Issues - ISPOR scientific journal to encourage and enhance the science of HEOR and its use in health care decisions in Asia, Latin America, Central & Eastern Europe, Western Asia, and Africa.
This year’s award for articles published in ViHRI (Central & Eastern Europe, Western Asia & Africa) is presented to Aleš Tichopád, PhD for the paper, Cost Burden of Severe Community–Acquired Rotavirus Gastroenteritis Requiring Hospitalization in the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Poland, and Hungary: A Retrospective Patient Chart Review, Value in Health Regional Issues (2016); 10:53-60.
The aim of the ViHRI Excellent Article Award is to recognize the best articles published in ViHRI from a region in Asia, Latin America and CEEWAA, which promote quality research, originality, and utility in health care decisions. More information about the Award here.
