Beyond “Today”: Making Recall-Period Choices Clinically and Economically Meaningful

Abstract

We read with great interest the Hong Kong population study by Xu et al evaluating recall periods for the EQ-5D-5L and EQ Health and Wellbeing short-form (EQ-HWB-9). The authors provide a careful head-to-head comparison across “today” and longer recall windows, with clear reporting of agreement and validity. We would like to offer several constructive suggestions that could further strengthen the scientific and practical impact of this work.
