Abstract

We were heartened to receive your response to our publication and welcome this learning opportunity. Our study presents the direct cost savings from the utilization of telemedicine and have yet to consider a more encompassing economic evaluation of this hospital-at-home program because of the program being in pilot then. We intended to wait for the program to stabilize so that we could better establish cost-effectiveness. In addition, a few years is also required for the number of patients to increase and stabilize for a more accurate evaluation. Nevertheless, your suggestion is important, and we will incorporate this when we perform that economic evaluation.
