Come Build Your Understanding of How Health Technologies Are Evaluated

Health technology assessment (HTA) is an essential tool for evaluating the clinical, economic, and social value of new medical technologies. This introductory course provides a comprehensive overview of HTA principles, methods, and terminology for academic researchers, clinicians, manufacturers, and policy makers. Using real-world examples from both drugs and devices, learners will explore how HTA reports are developed and applied across healthcare systems worldwide.

Technical Topics Include:
• Core elements of benefit assessment, including biostatistics, clinical epidemiology, and patient-relevant outcomes
• Economic evaluation methods such as costing, cost-effectiveness, and budget impact analysis
• Introduction to pharmacoeconomic modeling and resource allocation principles
• Ethical, legal, and social implications (ELSI) in HTA
• Practical steps for developing and interpreting HTA reports across health systems
