ISPOR’s Nancy S. Berg Named a PharmaVOICE Red Jacket Honoree

Published Aug 5, 2019

Lawrenceville, NJ, USA—August 5, 2019—ISPOR, the professional society for health economics and outcomes research, announced that its CEO and Executive Director Nancy S. Berg has been named a 2019 PharmaVOICE Red Jacket Award honoree.

Ms Berg has led ISPOR since 2014. She is being recognized for her strategic leadership of ISPOR and her ability to forge collaborative and productive relationships that further the Society’s mission to promote health economics and outcomes research (HEOR) excellence to improve decision making for health globally.

In collaboration with ISPOR’s board of directors, Ms Berg has achieved a number of accomplishments and launched key initiatives that have contributed to ISPOR becoming the leading professional society for HEOR globally. During her tenure, the Society has grown to 20,000+ individual and chapter members globally, increased attendance at its global HEOR conferences to more than 11,000 delegates in 2018, augmented its investment in mission-critical initiatives (such as programs in low- and middle-income countries) to $4.3 million US, launched its Health Technology Assessment Central, formed its new Patient Council, updated its corporate branding, and undertaken a massive IT project introducing key internal platforms to better serve its members.

PharmaVOICE describes its Red Jacket Award as their “version of a Hall of Fame” and introduced the award 5 years ago at the 10thanniversary of its PharmaVOICE 100 awards that annually celebrates the most inspiring leaders in healthcare. Red Jacket honorees are previously recognized PharmaVOICE 100 awardees who have “raised the bar in terms of what it means to be an inspiring leader” and are selected based on a number of criteria, including (a) for challenging us to think differently, act differently, and lead differently; (b) for creating new opportunities to make what was once impossible—possible; (c) for focusing beyond short-term gains and committing to executing their long-term visions in a tightly regulated and competitive industry; (d) for having a persistence of vision; and (e) for truly transforming the life-sciences industry to create better health outcomes for all.
