Apply managed entry agreements (MEAs) in pricing and reimbursement decisions

This course introduces managed entry agreements (MEAs) and their role in enabling access to innovative medicines, particularly in settings with economic constraints and explicit cost-effectiveness criteria. It explores how MEAs support evidence-based pricing and reimbursement decisions.

Technical topics include:

  • Key features of pricing and reimbursement systems across countries
  • Types and structures of managed entry agreements (MEAs)
  • Economic modeling for cost-effectiveness and budget impact analysis
  • Decision frameworks for value-based pricing and reimbursement

This course includes tools and concepts that can be immediately applied, including:

  • Hands-on exercises for pricing and reimbursement decision-making
  • Use of decision algorithms to support value-based policy decisions
  • Case studies involving high-cost oncology products
  • Practical insights into the advantages and limitations of MEAs in real-world settings

Participants will gain the knowledge and skills to evaluate and apply MEAs to support access, affordability, and evidence-based decision-making in healthcare systems. Participants who wish to gain hands-on experience must bring their laptops with Microsoft Excel for Windows installed.
