Health Technology Assessment (HTA) systems across Latin America are undergoing important transformation, with increasing formalization of governance structures, evolving value frameworks, and expanding evidence requirements. These developments are directly shaping pricing, reimbursement, and patient access decisions across diverse and heterogeneous health systems.
As institutional rigor strengthens, an important policy question emerges: how does HTA design influence not only reimbursement outcomes, but also the timeliness and real-world implementation of access? Compared with many high-income countries, several Latin American health systems face greater fiscal constraints affecting the intervals between regulatory approval, pricing negotiation, reimbursement determination, and effective patient uptake: the resulting delays are likely to have significant implications for health outcomes, budget sustainability, and innovation planning.
This webinar will provide a structured regional perspective on key HTA and access trends across Latin America, with Argentina, Colombia, and Chile serving as illustrative case studies, followed by a moderated discussion featuring former government leaders, HTA and policy experts, and industry. The session will explore how HTA functions within Ministries of Health, how assessment translates into implementation, and how pricing dynamics—including differential pricing and external reference pricing— and negotiation interact with national HTA processes.
Particular attention will be given to the balance between methodological rigor, affordability, and timely access. Designed for a global HEOR and market access audience, this session will offer comparative insight and strategic implications relevant to stakeholders engaged in value-based decision-making across Latin America Health systems.

Los sistemas de Evaluación de Tecnologías Sanitarias (ETS) en América Latina están evolucionando rápidamente, con marcos de gobernanza más sólidos, mayores requisitos de evidencia y una creciente incorporación de evaluaciones basadas en valor. Estos cambios están transformando las decisiones sobre precios, reembolso y acceso a tecnologías sanitarias, al tiempo que plantean nuevos desafíos para lograr un acceso oportuno de los pacientes en sistemas de salud con recursos limitados.
Este seminario web ofrecerá una visión regional de las principales tendencias en ETS y acceso al mercado en América Latina, seguida de un panel con exrepresentantes gubernamentales, expertos en ETS y políticas públicas, y líderes de la industria. La discusión abordará el papel de la ETS en la toma de decisiones dentro de los Ministerios de Salud, su implementación en la práctica y cómo las dinámicas de precios y la negociación interactúan con los procesos de evaluación.
