Description
Health economics and outcomes research (HEOR) is increasingly shaping healthcare decision-making across Asia as systems incorporate economic evidence, real-world data, and value assessments into policy and reimbursement processes. However, the practical application of HEOR varies significantly by country, driven by local healthcare infrastructure, regulatory environments, and policy priorities.
This webinar explores real-world HEOR applications across 3 Asian health systems, highlighting how HEOR supports informed healthcare decision-making. Dr Manasa Kasoj will focus on the application of health technology assessment (HTA) for priority setting and supporting universal health coverage (UHC) in India through case studies on the Ayushman Bharat program. She will also discuss practical challenges encountered when translating analytical models, clinical evidence, and real-world data into policy-relevant insights. Dr Anita Ou will discuss how clinical trial evidence and real-world data are used in HTA, pricing strategies, reimbursement decisions, and policy development. Drawing on examples from Taiwan’s healthcare system, she will illustrate how HEOR evidence supports decisions across the drug life cycle, including market entry, value-based pricing, and policy adjustments. Dr Shitong Xie will introduce the important workflow of National Reimbursement Drug List adjustment in China and highlight the critical role in which HEOR plays. He will also discuss how real-world studies and evidence are used in HTA and to support pricing and decision-making through case studies.
