Build Your Foundation in the Six Steps of Budget Impact Analysis

This primer introduces the six key steps for estimating budget impact, from defining the eligible population and treatment mix to projecting drug costs, disease-related costs, and annual changes in budget impact and health outcomes. Designed for learners with some pharmacoeconomic experience, this session prepares participants for more advanced BIA work.

Technical Topics Include:
• Estimating eligible population uptake
• Selecting an appropriate time horizon
• Identifying current and projected treatment mix
• Estimating current and future drug costs
• Assessing changes in disease-related costs
• Presenting annual budget impact and outcome changes

This Course Includes Practical Tools and Concepts That Can Be Immediately Applied, Including:
• A structured overview of the 6-step BIA framework
• Preparation for the advanced course “Budget Impact Analysis II: Applications and Design Issues”
