This course is designed for health economists and outcomes researchers seeking to enhance their productivity, accuracy, and innovation through effective use of generative AI tools. Participants will gain a foundational understanding of prompt engineering and its specific applications within the HEOR context.
Technical topics include:
Overview of prompt engineering principles for large language models (LLMs) and generative AI.
Use of prompt strategies to support tasks such as systematic literature reviews, economic modeling, and real-world evidence generation.
Common pitfalls and best practices for using AI in regulated and high-stakes environments.
This course includes tools and techniques that can be immediately applied, including:
Hands-on exercises for designing and refining prompts in real HEOR scenarios.
Tailored approaches for integrating AI tools into HEOR workflows.
Strategies to evaluate and optimize AI outputs for quality, consistency, and compliance.
PREREQUISITE: Basic knowledge of systematic literature reviews and economic modeling will be helpful. No prior knowledge or use of AI is required.
