HEOR and cross-functional teams must rapidly generate continuous insights to address payer questions, inform access strategy, assess competitive positioning, and monitor real-world performance. A critical and common post-launch evidence need, particularly in an evolving treatment landscape, is treatment utilization and outcomes, to understand who receives therapy, how it is used in routine practice, and what outcomes are achieved across patient populations.
Delivering these insights quickly can be challenging. Evidence needs may arise under compressed timelines and amidst competing pre- and post-launch priorities. Further, evidence generation teams typically include cross-functional stakeholders from medical, HEOR, epidemiology, clinical development, and market access each with different evidence needs, timelines and priorities. Without clear ownership of a lifecycle evidence strategy and early alignment on study objectives, endpoints, and data sources, organizations risk delays caused by rework, misalignment, and repeated vendor onboarding.
This session will explore a treatment utilization and outcomes study as a use case. The use case will highlight the value of a clearly articulated evidence need in combination with organizational investment in scalable data infrastructure, governance frameworks, and coordinated evidence planning. The discussion will also highlight methodological and operational considerations in designing treatment utilization and outcomes studies, including study objectives, endpoint selection, and data source selection.
Lessons learned from the use case will be discussed in the context of broader HEOR practice to illustrate approaches that may be applicable across organizations and therapeutic areas.
The audience will gain practical insights for designing and implementing responsive evidence generation strategies that support timely decision-making across the product lifecycle.
