PATIENT CASE-MIX OF A TERTIARY CLINICAL CENTRE WITH PATIENTS DIAGNOSED WITH MALIGNANT MELANOMA BETWEEN 2012-2015

OBJECTIVES: Our study aimed at analysing the main characteristics of patients diagnosed with malignant melanoma in the period between 2012-2015. METHODS: A retrospective data analysis was performed in the period between 01.01.2012. and 30.12.2016. at the Clinical Centre of University of Pécs, using data sheets about out- and inpatient care received by patients registered under codes C4300-C4390 and D0300-D0390 (gender, age, interventions, main diagnoses, nursing time). Descriptive statistics, independent sample t-test, χ-test, and ANOVA tests were performed (p<0,05) using SPSS software. RESULTS: CONCLUSIONS: The majority of patients diagnosed with malignant melanoma are treated on an out-patient basis. Nursing time rarely exceeds 3 days. Gender and age distribution and the body parts affected were found to be the same as patterns in the literature indicate.
