OBJECTIVES: Quantify people who know their HIV status, antiretroviral therapy coverage and viral suppression, in patients reported by insurers to the Colombian health system, as a follow-up to the 90 90 90 targets (90% in each mentioned indicator). METHODS: Periodically each insurer reported the information related to the healthcare of people living with HIV to a non-governmental organization of the Social Security System in Health of Colombia (Cuenta de Alto Costo). Subsequently, data was audited. We included patients living and affiliated to the health system in the 2015 - 2017. Three indicators were measured: the number of people living with HIV reported (PVVIHR), the percentage of people with antiretroviral treatment in the PVVIHR and the percentage of people with viral suppression in the PVVIHR (<50 copies/ml). Annuals results were compared with the targets. RESULTS: CONCLUSIONS: During the three years of measurement, there was an increase in reported cases of people living with HIV. The antiretroviral treatment coverage increased from 72.2% to 92.2% improving 20% and the viral suppression increased 59.3% to 66.6% improving 7.3%. Although the target related to the coverage of antiretroviral therapy has been reached, there is still a gap of 23.4% for this population to reach the goal of viral suppression. Urgent efforts are needed to scale up prevention strategies, diagnosis, and adherence to treatment. Achieving these targets by 2020 will enable to end the AIDS epidemic by 2030.
