OBJECTIVES

: The present systematic review studied the cost effectiveness analysis (CEA) of belimumab in patients with systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE).

METHODS

: A systematic MEDLINE search was conducted by pairing relevant keywords to identify English language articles assessing CEA of belimumab in patients with SLE.

RESULTS

: In a microsimulation cost-effectiveness model with life time horizon it was observed that incremental cost-effectiveness ratio (ICER) associated with the use of belimumab was equal to €22,990 for life-years (LY) and €32,859 for quality adjusted life years (QALY).
