The goal of the session is to provide the audience with information and examples about real-world experiences of how health technology assessment (HTA) can be applied in health care decision making broadly in different aspects of the health care ecosystem, with a goal of improving the efficiency of health care resource allocation. This symposium will address ‘evolution and application of HTA beyond pharmaceuticals and devices’, ‘transparency of decision making’, and other relevant areas. The use of HTA and translation of assessments in decision making (through examples in different settings/countries) will resonate with the audience and help to inform their decision making process within their own local environment. HTA and its link to decision making is critically important to ensure that decision making is based on science and evidence.
