To find out relations of selected indicators through patient reported outcomes. METHODS: Prospective interventional study conducted in RDT Hospital, Bathalapalli - Ananthapur for a period of 6 months from October 2015- February-2016. Cancer patients, of either sex, above 18 years of age, with or without co-morbidities and patient willing to participate in the study are included and pregnant patients are excluded from the study.  Statistical comparisons were performed by using appropriate procedures (T-Test). RESULTS: The study reveals that stress severity is high in case of females. The Stress severity was more in the age group of 20-30, it may be due to cancer detection in their early ages and also fear of self survival and their family. The high scores of Stress were seen among the subjects earning high range of income, living as nuclear families and who live in joint families showed a high response to the counseling. During the first cycle of chemotherapy the subjects were found to be having more severity of stress, as Mindful attention increases stress decreases even before the counseling was given to all subjects in all study groups. After the counseling there was an improvement in the Mindful attention and decrease in the stress of the subjects (p<0.05). CONCLUSIONS: It was found that there is less severity of stress in any group of study population where as the Mindful attention and awareness is found to be high even before the counseling was given. After the counseling the stress was found to decrease and the Mindful attention and awareness was found to increase on the whole. Therefore it can be concluded that as Mindful attention and awareness increases as the severity of the stress decreases.
