ASSESSING THE BURDEN OF CHRONIC HEART FAILURE (CHF) ON PATIENTS IN BRAZIL

OBJECTIVES:: To understand the burden of Chronic Heart Failure (CHF) on patients in Brazil. METHODS:: A Disease Specific Program was conducted to assess the impact of CHF in Brazil. Forty-five cardiologists completed patient record forms for 443 patients. The same patients were invited to complete a patient self-completion questionnaire (PSC). RESULTS:: Data on the PSC cohort (n=182) revealed that a typical CHF patient was male (60%) with a mean age of 66.1 years.
