OBJECTIVES: Determine the minimum variables to be taken into account to perform an integrated breast cancer diagnosis process that facilitates decision-making under care characteristics of the Colombian Health System. METHODS: A literature review was made with the following terms: ("Breast Neoplasms"[Mesh]) AND "Quality Indicators, Health Care"[Mesh]; (("Quality Indicators, Health Care"[Mesh]) AND "Breast Neoplasms"[Mesh]) AND "Diagnosis"[Mesh]. Based on the review of original articles, observational studies and Clinical Practice Guidelines, a panel of experts defined the variables and established the categories of measurement for each.
