OBJECTIVES: Multiple sclerosis (MS) is one of the most common neurological diseases, and in Canada, MS rates are among the highest reported worldwide. Disease-modifying drugs (DMDs) for MS are used to prevent disability and delay disease progression. Ten DMDs are approved in Canada, of which four (oral therapies fingolimod, dimethyl fumarate and teriflunomide; monoclonal antibody alemtuzumab) have entered the market since 2011. The objective of this study was to evaluate the Canadian market for DMDs since 2011. METHODS: Data on retail prescriptions and on drugstore and hospital purchases of DMD in Canada were obtained from IMS Brogan. Numbers of prescriptions and purchases (in $Can) were collected for 12-month periods ending May 31st
