FINAL YEAR PHARMACY STUDENTS' PERCEPTION TOWARDS GENERIC MEDICINES- A QUESTIONNAIRE-BASED STUDY FROM YEMEN

OBJECTIVES: This study aimed to evaluate the knowledge and perception of final year pharmacy students in southeast Yemen about generic medicines, and to explore factors could affect final-year pharmacy students’ future substitutions practice METHODS: A self-administered modified, pre-validated questionnaire was used to capture the data All final year pharmacy students from one governmental university (n= 132) and a private university (n=74) were invited to participate in this study. The survey consists of 4 parts: demographics characteristics, knowledge of bioequivalence of generic medicines, understanding of brand versus generic medicines and finally perception pharmacy education and pharmacy practice.
