SYSTEMATIC REVIEW ON CLINICAL AND HEALTH ECONOMIC BENEFIT OF USING SAFE BLOOD DRAWING DEVICE

OBJECTIVES : This study is to analyze whether using safe devices in blood drawing practice has better clinical outcomes and health economic benefit than conventional devices through literature review. METHODS : This study took “Title/abstract = ‘needle stick injury’ or ‘Sharp injury’” and “publication date from 2008 to 2017” as research strategy in CNKI, Wanfang, CQVIP, Pubmed, and identified 11,368 papers. We developed criteria of a)access to full text, b)without duplication in other studies, c)design of study is related to safe nursing practices, or analysis of epidemiology, disease burden, healthcare economic etc., and screened out 239 papers from Chinese databases and 112 from Pubmed. Focusing on blood drawing practice, we identified 20 Chinese papers and 15 English papers and key information was extracted. RESULTS :
