THE DYNAMICS OF QUALITY OF LIFE IN CHILDREN WITH UNCONTROLLED SEVERE PERSISTENT ASTHMA

OBJECTIVES:  Assessment the quality of life (QoL) of children with bronchial asthma (BA) provides independent additional information on asthma status, complementary to symptoms and lung function. QoL is a useful additional parameter to assess response to treatment, as well in children with uncontrolled severe persistent BA. AIM: To analyze the efficacy of the impact of Omalizumab on QoL of children with asthma according to pediatric patient registry with uncontrolled severe persistent BA. METHODS: pediatric patient registry with uncontrolled severe persistent BA included data of 101children (32.67% girls) from 6 y to 17 y 11 mo (average age 13.4 y), receiving Omalizumab in addition to basic therapy (the duration of therapy from 1 to 81 mo) were analyzed. The children’s QoL were assessed by of questionnaire PAQLQ(S) before therapy with Omalizumab, in 16 weeks and in 1 year.
