ATTITUDE AND WILLINGNESS TO PARTICIPATE ON SCREENING OF FIRST-DEGREE RELATIVES OF COLORECTAL CANCER PATIENTS

OBJECTIVES: Colorectal cancer is the second most common cause of death in both sexes in our country. The participation rate of the population on screening is very low, even if colorectal cancer was diagnosed among the first-degree relatives. The aim of the research is to explore the willingness to participate in screening among first-degree relatives, their knowledge about the disease and its risk factors and available screening opportunities. METHODS: Quantitative, cross-sectional study was performed, among first-degree relatives of patients with colorectal cancer with targeted non-random sampling method (n=115) in Baranya County. The question groups of the own-complied questionnaire: sociodemographic characteristics, skills, attitudes, acceptance of screening methods, and participation in screening. In addition to descriptive statistical analysis, two sample t-test and χ2-test were performed with the SPSS program (p<0.05). RESULTS:
