Majority of respondents were physicians (72%). 73% of physicians and 76.4% of pharmacists believed that ADRs reporting is part of their duty. 52.2% of respondents agreed that monitoring of drug safety is important whereas 22% believe that there is no need to report ADRs related to OTC products. 74.2% of respondents did not report ADRs due to unavailability of reporting forms while 70% due to lack of proper pharmacovigilance center in Pakistan. 52.2% do not report due to their insufficient knowledge and 24.7% believe that all serious ADRs were detected before registration of new drug. 81.8% believe that they would report ADRs if there is pharmacovigilance center while 47.8% said that there should be some incentives for ADR reporting. CONCLUSIONS: Based on the study finding most of these barriers were related to general unfamiliarity with ADRs reporting guidelines and also need of pharmacovigilance center. So it emphasizes that the regulatory bodies should establish a proper pharmacovigilance center and arrange educational programs aimed to improve and increase the level of knowledge towards ADR reporting. These goals can be achieved through cooperation with the local or international regulatory bodies involved in the pharmacovigilance activities both in the educational or organizational fields.
