OBJECTIVES: The aim of this study is to investigate the treatment cost of recurrent Clostridium difficile infection (CDI) for patients attending tertiary care level at four hospitals in Sweden. METHODS: Following approval by the Central Ethical Review Board in Stockholm, the patient records of 120 patients were used to ascertain the resources used to treat the latest recurrent infection.
