OBJECTIVES : To survey, analyze and ascertain preferences on treatments of NSCLC from the perspective of physicians, compare with patients preference, so that to provide the evidence for clinical decision-making and patient health management of NSCLC treatment.

METHODS : Literature review and semi structured interview were conducted to determine related attributes of NSCLC treatment. The fractional factorial design was used to generate the discrete-choice experiment (DCE) questionnaire. After questionnaire survey on physicians of NSCLC patients, the mixed logit model was used to estimate the model.

RESULTS

Six attributes related to the physician's choice of treatment were identified and a questionnaire was designed. A total of 48 NSCLC physicians (N=48) completed all the selection tasks for face-to-face surveys. When physicians choose the treatment of NSCLC, disease progression-free survival(PFS), disease control rate, risk of mild adverse reactions during treatment (grade 1-2), risk of severe adverse reactions during treatment (grade 3-4), patient's self-payment and administration methods will all affect physicians' choice. Physicians believed that patients were willing to pay more than 79800RMB per month for an 11months PSF treatment and about 26600RMB per month for 90% of the disease control rate, but need a compensation of 13800RMB per month for a treatment with 50% risk of mild adverse reactions during the treatment period and a compensation of 31600RMB per month for a treatment with 8% risk of mild adverse reactions.

CONCLUSIONS : Physicians prefer longer PSF, higher disease control rate, and lower risk of mild adverse reactions during treatment, lower risk of severe adverse reactions during treatment, less treatment costs, and oral administration of treatment. Compared to preference of NSCLC patients (Abstract ID# 83401, ISPOR Asia Pacific 2018), physicians consider more comprehensive when choosing treatment options. For mode of administration, physicians may prefer to choose oral administration
