Author(s)
Moderator: Jens Grueger, PhD, Boston Consulting Group, Boston, MA, MA, USA
Speakers: Lotte Steuten, PhD, MSc, The Office of Health Economics, London, LON, UK; Francisco Nuno Rocha-Gonçalves, PhD, Sanofi, Lisboa, Portugal; Etienne Laine, MS, MA, Global Access, Roche, Basel, BS, Switzerland
DESCRIPTION: Jens Grueger will open the forum with an overview of VBHC, motivating the need for better HEOR guidance for implementation and evaluation. Lotte Steuten will report on a comprehensive literature review in order to deliver a catalogue of good practices in the use of HEOR methods to assess the impact of VBHC experiments. Francisco Goncalves will discuss opportunities in areas where HEOR methodologies are not sufficiently addressing the needs of VBHC (e.g. Integrated Practice Unit (IPU) formation, continuous process improvements; change management; organizational behavior). Etienne Laine will provide an outlook on how the STF will develop good practice guidelines for HEOR to support implementation of VBHC (e.g. HEOR methods to enable continuous improvement in clinical practice and decision making). We will allow significant time to discuss comments and questions from the audience. Polls will be used throughout the forum to assess audience perspectives and feedback on the STF approach. After this session the audience will understand the need for better HEOR guidance for the implementation and continuous evaluation of VBHC projects and have the opportunity to provide input into the evolving task force recommendations.
