OBJECTIVES: The objective of the present investigation is to determine the level of Health-Related Quality of Life (HRQOL) and associated factors in men with erectile dysfunction and indication of CR who attend to an ambulatory control. METHODS: A quantitative, cross-sectional study was conducted and 156 males were interviewed after approval by the ethics committee. The SF-36 health questionnaire validated in Chile was used and descriptive, bivariate and multiple linear regression data analysis was performed. RESULTS:The HRQOL of patients in the study were best evaluated on a scale of 0-100 in the dimensions of Social Function and Emotional Role (82 points), Physical Function (79), Physical Role (75), Mental Health (72), Vitality (68) and General Health (67). While the worst evaluated was Corporal Pain (43). The clinical and socio-demographic characteristics associated with some of the dimensions were: occupation, companionship, severe erectile dysfunction, age, body mass index, years of study, place of residence, healthcare system, sedentary lifestyle, adherence, hypertension, dyslipidemia and tobacco (p<0.05). CONCLUSIONS : The global index of Physical Health as a summary measure obtained a lower score with an average of 44- 7,89, while the HRQOL according to the Mental Health index was better evaluated with 50 -11,18. The assumptions of the multiple regression model are fulfilled, but it barely predicts the global index of Pshysical Health and it is unstable due to the small sample size and the heterogeneous characteristics of the patients.
