Infertility poses an increased challenge however, there are several identifiable medical interventions that could contribute to successful conception. The aim of our study is to analyse demographic indicators related to infertility in Hungary between 2010-2019. METHODS : Our database was provided by the National Health Insurance Fund Administration of Hungary. The database contained all public-financed inpatient number of infertility cases between 2010-2019. Patients with infertility were identified with the following codes of the International Classification of Diseases 10th revision: N9700, N9730, N9790. The annual number of cases, the mean age of patients, and the related number of cases by county per 10,000 inhabitants were evaluated. RESULTS : During the analysed period 141,753 number of cases were financed in Hungary. The number of annual cases increased significantly from 10,175 (2010) to 22,993 (2019). The mean age of the patients also increased from 33.71 years (2010) to 35.19 years (2019). The market share of number of cases was the most significant by age group 32-38 (market share: 47%). The lowest number of cases per 10,000 inhabitants has been shown in 2010 (14.63 cases) and the highest in 2019 (26.55 cases). In county breakdown, Csongrád county should be highlighted, where the mean value of number of cases calculated for the study period (43.18) exceeded the national number of cases per 10,000 inhabitants by more than two times. (19.35). CONCLUSIONS : Linear increase in the number of cases as well as the constant increase of the mean age of patients related to infertility had been identified. In addition, there was a significant territorial difference related to the distribution of the infertility cases in Hungary.
