ABSTRACT WITHDRAWN

OBJECTIVES: There is growing interest in Health Economics and Outcomes Research in India in recent years. Despite this growing interest, the number of HRQoL studies in India are limited.

METHODS: Total number of studies with MeSH search terms Health Related Quality of Life and India from PubMed were identified. Search terms “Health Related Quality of Life” and “India” yielded 5022 results between Jan 01, 2001 to Dec 31, 2018. The studies searched were restricted to Journal articles and were sorted by Best Match. The list of 5022 studies was exported as CSV files in an Excel Sheet. Further filters were applied in the excel sheet with terms “Health Related Quality of Life” and “India”, and “Quality of Life” and “India”. The studies with search terms were segregated into three different periods – 2001-2006, 2007-2012 and 2013-2018 to understand the trend in HRAQoL studies in India.

RESULTS: Out of 5022 studies, a total of 360 studies were found between 2001-2006; 1321 during 2007-2012 and 3437 studies from 2013 to 2018 with terms. After applying a second filter, out of 5022 studies, only 24 studies were found matching the terms “Health Related Quality of Life” and “India”. Of these 24 studies, there were 0 (zero) studies found during 2001-2006; 06 (six) studies between 2007-2012 and 18 studies between 2013-2018. With search terms “Quality of Life” and “India”, 19 studies were identified during 2001-2006, 76 between 2007-2012 and 164 between 2013-2018.

CONCLUSIONS: The number of studies regarding Quality of Life and Health Related Quality of Life has increased in India during last few years, specifically, 2013-2018, compared to 2001-2006 and 2007-2012.
