OBJECTIVES: To analyze characteristics and therapeutic pathways in patients with heart failure (HF) and to estimate healthcare resources utilization.METHODS: A retrospective analysis based on administrative databases of Veneto Region was performed (for a total number of 4.9M beneficiaries). Adult patients with a hospitalization discharge diagnosis or exemption code of HF from 1/01/2011 to 31/12/2015 (inclusion period) were included. The index-date (ID) was the matching with at least one of the inclusion criteria during the inclusion period. All patients were followed up after the ID for 12 months (F-up). Patients who died at the ID were excluded.RESULTS:
