Objectives According to the WHO, Ukraine remains a country with high rates of burden of tuberculosis and multi-resistant tuberculosis. Ukraine is one of the 27 countries with the greatest burden of tuberculosis. The effectiveness of treatment is low. The working group updated the clinical guidelines for the management of patients with tuberculosis. A modern, unified clinical protocol is being developed. It provides new approaches to the diagnosis and treatment of tuberculosis that are in line with modern world practices (for example, WHO recommendations). Methods The multidisciplinary working group has systematically searched clinical guidelines for the management of patients with tuberculosis. Clinical guidelines have been evaluated using AGREE II. Those guidelines that were chosen as prototypes were critically evaluated and adapted to the national context. The previous version of the evidence-based clinical guideline was publicly announced in January 2018. Results Modern evidence of effective methods for diagnosis and treatment of tuberculosis has been included in the guideline. The working group develops a unified clinical protocol to ensure the minimum acceptable quality of primary and specialized medical care These documents will be available in the Register of medical and technological documents on the standardization of medical services (http://mtd.dec.gov.ua). Conclusions The methodological approach to modern medical and technological documents in Ukraine allows creating effective tools for managing patients with specific diseases by adapting international medical standards. Further implementation of the clinical guidelines and the unified clinical protocol will facilitate the coherence of the actions of doctors at all levels of medical care provision.
