OBJECTIVES: Cancer was among the top five causes of death in the Ministry of Health (MOH) hospitals and Acute Myeloid Leukaemia (AML) is one of the most common and acute diseases of leukaemia. The increased of AML cases has led to higher allocation of healthcare resource. This study aims to estimate the cost of standard AML therapy in a public hospital. METHODS: Medical records of AML patients from January 2008 until December 2013 were extracted from electronic Health Information System and screen for selection. Only medication cost that was associated for induction, consolidation and salvage therapy were recorded. The cost was also stratified according to age, gender and race. RESULTS:
