ISSUE: Patient adherence programs have significantly evolved over the last decade. While measurement challenges haven’t been fully overcome, cloud-enabled data collection have been able to improve both the volume and the accuracy of the patient level information available to monitor and appropriately intervene to improve compliance. Such technology-supported real world data have become a useful tool to improve adherence in large patient populations, thereby generating increasing interest from payers across the world.
OVERVIEW: The session will start with an update on the recent evolution of adherence data collection methodologies, and showcase selected examples of recent innovation in these areas. The speakers will also provide insights around applicability of relevant devices and technology platforms to accurately collect real-world evidence that can be shared with payers in different Latin American countries. Such a value-added service may have the potential to justify the cost of innovative medicines if they are accompanied by continuous evidence generation and provide incremental value to Payers. The speakers will discuss specific examples from Latin American countries where such programs have been implemented, and provide perspectives around future needs in certain chronic disease areas. The panel will welcome an interactive debate, during which the participants will have the opportunity to discuss locally applicable methodologies of patient adherence data collection and analyses and share their perspectives on payer expectations in the region.
