HEALTH CARE RESOURCE USE AND COST IN RHEUMATOID ARTHRITIS PATIENTS ASSOCIATED WITH DIFFERENT BDMARD TREATMENT LINES- A GERMAN CLAIMS DATA ANALYSIS BASED ON 3624 PATIENTS

OBJECTIVES: This study aimed to determine health care resource use (HCRU), direct treatment cost (DTC), and cost predictors of rheumatoid arthritis (RA) patients care in a German real-world setting. METHODS: Our analysis was based on claims data provided by one large German sickness fund. All RA adult patients who received at least one prescription of a bDMARD from 01/01/2010-30/11/2013 were included. We assessed HCRU and DTC associated with different lines of bDMARD treatment (minimum duration of each line of 1 month) separately for an anti-TNF or non-anti TNF treatment. A line-specific bDMARD treatment period started with the first observed bDMARD prescription of that line and ended with the first day of a treatment gap of at least 90 days, date of death of the patient, or prescription date of another bDMARD agent (whichever came first). A multivariate GLM gamma regression analysis was performed for exploring cost predictors. RESULTS:
