OBJECTIVES:  Recent decades have brought the development of modern technology in the manufacture of rehabilitation medical devices (RMD). New production processes and materials have been introduced in their production. The consequence of this development is a wide variety of new RMD and their continuous innovation. METHODS:  The target of the work was to analyse the data on patient satisfaction with RMD through self-reported technique of a questionnaire survey during October 2015 - January 2016 at the University Hospital, the rehabilitation ward and in the Centre of Social Services in Trenčín, Slovak Republic. Using a 2-point Likert scale (1-satisfied, 2-dissatisfied) patients expressed their general satisfaction rate with an offer, range, usage, acquisition, and quality. To process the data it was used the basic and advanced statistic functions by Microsoft Excel. RESULTS: Of 102 patients (n_man= 52%, n_age19-60= 50%, n_age61-85= 50%, education high school n= 78,4%) used walking stick 21.6%, elbow crutch 36.3% and underarm crutch 32.3%. Patients predominantly used RMD on daily base (83.3%). The most common type of the disease was other disease (37.5%) than orthopaedic (30.4%), neurologic (28.4%) or rheumatologic disease (3.9%). The most common site of disease for which they used RMD was lower limbs (63.7%). The most frequent method about RMD usage was recommendation from physician (82.4%). The acquisition of RMD was mostly on the basis of medical voucher (82.4%). Patients expressed satisfaction with the offer and range of RMD (score 1.03) and quality (score 1.03) of RMD. CONCLUSIONS: Patients are highly satisfied with offer, range and quality of RMD. The doctors recommend to use and prescribe RMD for short or long term use when mobility impairments.
