ORAL AND GENERAL HEALTH RELATED QUALITY OF LIFE IN TIMES OF CRISIS IN GREECE

OBJECTIVES: To measure oral and general health, as well as oral and general health-related quality of life (HRQoL) in times of crisis in Greece, and to investigate their association. METHODS:  A non-randomized, cross-sectional, observational study of 463 dental patients in the greater area of Athens between March and April 2014. Patients were enrolled from 5 private dental clinics and completed a self-administered questionnaire collecting data on socio-demographics, self-rated general and oral health (visual analogue and 5-point Likert scales), oral and general HRQoL (OHIP-14 and EQ-5D-5L respectively). Descriptive statistics were used to summarize health and HRQoL results, while the Pearson and Spearman correlation coefficients were employed to investigate the relationship between health and quality of life measures.
