OBJECTIVES: The Hungarian health visitors’ profession and the related cervical cancer screening is unique all over the world. Our investigation aimed at assessing the results of the cervical cancer screeening program (education, screening) carried out by health visitors between 2013 and 2015. METHODS: The health visitors participated in theoretical education (3 days) and practices (minimum 30 pap-tests taken) within the project of the Chief Medical Office. This education enabled them to organize and screen cervical cancer on their own in their districts. Data of education and screening were processed by SPSS 22.0 program by descriptive statistics.
