OBJECTIVES: Following pharmacoeconomic evaluation, abiraterone and enzalutamide were made available for reimbursement in Ireland via the Health Service Executive (HSE) from December 2012 and August 2014, respectively. Little is known regarding their real-world utilisation. This study analysed post-reimbursement use of these drugs in the Irish setting. METHODS: Anonymised pharmacy claims data were provided by the HSE. Individual patient records from December 2012 to December 2015 inclusive were analysed using SASv9.3. Duration of use was estimated for patients commenced on treatment before February 2015 to permit at least 12 months follow-up for each drug. RESULTS:
