OBJECTIVES:
The "MyTrial” website serves as a repository of information about clinical studies in Israel. Starting in 2017, each interventional clinical trial conducted in Israel must have a registered number on “My trial” prior to IRB approval. There is nothing in the literature examining the completion and accuracy of the MyTrial site.METHODS:
We assessed all initiated, ongoing, and completed or terminated clinical studies. We compared the number of trials, the phase, classification, and medical care to treat to reflect challenges and key issues. We compared the number of trials, the phase, classification, and medical care to treat to reflect "MyTrial" challenges and key issuesRESULTS:
As of today, "MyTrial" captured information from 3896 sources of clinical trials, all of which were approved by the Israeli IRB starting in 2011. The top theme of studies conducted in Israel concerned Oncology, accounting for 17% of the studies. Most of these studies were phase III and phase II studies. In many new drugs or new medical device studies, 80% (1227/ 1536) of the phase classification or type of the study was missing.CONCLUSIONS:
Based on the results of this study, it appears that the "MyTrial" website serves as an important repository of information about clinical trials conducted in Israel. Most of these studies focus on oncology, neurology, and cardiology. The study identified potential quality issues, including many studies with no phase classification. Further investigation may be needed to address these issues.Conference/Value in Health Info
